Yay! Ann Marie and Jared are expecting their first little one in September! I shot their wedding in October 2008 and was thrilled when Ann Marie contacted me to let me know they were expecting…I was also incredibly flattered that they would ask me to document such an important moment in their lives again.
Even though Ann Marie and Jared make portrait sessions easy (have you seen how gorgeous and in love they are?), we had one major challenge on our hands: bugs. Yes, August in Wisconsin in all its glory, complete with a rain storm that morning which unleashed humidity and the mosquitoes (and in turn, the dragonflies) in all their biting fury. Holy camoly. And of course the areas I had planned on using were the worst parts for the bugs: in the middle of a prairie and near the forest. Our session sounded like this: “Ok guys, when I say go, run over there, get in this pose, smile, give each other a kiss and run back. Ready…..go!” Ann Marie and Jared were the ultimate troopers, taking it all in stride.
