Ok, four and a half months. But as new parents can attest, it hurts to add that half month (they grow up so fast!) so I’ll round down. Every month around E’s birthday, I do a mini photo session with him to document his growth. Here he is at four months (yeah yeah, four months and one week in the photos…)
This is the best part of my job: meeting the most fantabulous kids and getting to watch them grow up. I cannot BELIEVE that Phoebe is already a year old. Dude. For real. Wasn’t it just a couple weeks ago that I shot her newborn session? I love love love this family…makes my heart melt a little when I think about them. Ok, mushy stuff aside…happy birthday Phoebster! Hearts to you!
Our very good friends, Don and Kevin, recently had a family reunion of sorts–Don’s two sisters were coming to San Diego (one is already here) and it would be the first time that the four of them would be in the same place at the same time in over five years. Further, it was the first time that some of the nieces and nephews would meet (Audrey is only three, after all). To document the occasion, Don’s sister Lorinda hired me to do a family portrait session with them one afternoon. I really enjoyed finally meeting the rest of Don’s family and I especially loved loved loved hanging out with all the kids: they were so gracious and playful and respectful of each other…awesome kids to say the least. I was honored to be a part of this momentous occasion–thank you, Lorinda, for including me! Enjoy the slideshow and sneak peek!
You might remember Robin and Dave from their Little Italy engagement session back in February…you know, the super fun, smiley couple that adored each other? Yep, that’s them. It was clear at their wedding that the feelings of adoration had only grown stronger in the interim, too. Robin and Dave left many guests in tears after reading their personalized vows to each other – I, myself, got a little misty eyed even. The wedding was gorgeous, too: no surprise since it was planned with help from the awesome ladies of Ever After Events. I loved spending the day with this fun-loving, happy-hearted couple and their guests. Oh, and you want more proof of how fun they are? They surprised their guests with a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream booth. Yeah. Ben and Jerry’s. As in, ice cream. YUM!!! A big thank you to them for letting us share the day. (And a big thank you to Dexter Lo for helping Michael and me to document it!)
There are no words… other than perhaps… FANTABULOUS!! You could not have captured the spirit of the day any better. Thanks to Jena, Michael, and Dexter for doing such amazing work and for just being super cool people to hang out with too : ) Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos!
Way back when during Mother’s Day, we ran a Facebook contest where we had moms post the biggest lesson they learned from being a mommy; the mommy whose lesson earned the most “likes” would win a free portrait session for her family. And…..drum roll….Courtney was our big winner! Her lesson? “The maternal instinct trumps any book, blog, website or unsolicited advice from a stranger at Starbucks.” So true….
We recently met up on a busy Sunday afternoon at Balboa Park, along with Courtney’s husband Andrew and her daughter Sophie, to play. And play we did – Sophie is a pistol, running here and there and everywhere, jumping around and then running some more. She definitely made me work for my shots. ;) But oh my goodness, I could’ve played with that girly girl all day – she has the kind of energy I just adore in little kids.
Being the born and raised cheesehead (aka Wisconsinite) that I am, I don't charge for travel for weddings booked in southern Wisconsin. I may be a San Diegan now, but the midwest will always have a special place in my heart.
