Hiya everyone! Just wanted to make the official announcement that I’ll be on maternity leave starting until mid-May! If you’re interested in booking a wedding with me, you can definitely contact me–I’ll still be checking emails and phone messages throughout the weeks, as well as meeting with potential clients as needed…you just won’t see any updates here on the blog for awhile.
Pictures of the new baby coming soon! Until then, you just get a picture of me. :)

Phoeeeeeeeebeeeeeeeee! This little girl lights up my life whenever I see her, which is thankfully fairly often because her parents rock and have become good friends of ours over the past year (if you follow this blog at all, you’ve seen Genevieve and Dempsey several times before, from their wedding to their maternity session to Phoebe’s newborn session). I just can’t believe she’s already nine months old…wowzer. Ok, I’m now going to unleash the adorableness with the slide show and sneak peek images: you’ve been warned.

Sweet sweet Audrey…such a beautiful girl and such a wonderful family. Don and Kevin are good friends of ours (you may remember their shoot from last year…I can’t believe how much she’s grown during that time!) so of course it was a joy to work with them again. Audrey had a blast traipsing around Old Poway Park and of course got a kick out of being able to wear three different girly-girl outfits in just one hour! This girl knows her fashion already–when I told her she had a pretty dress on, she promptly corrected me: “Thank you. It’s a skirt.” Oh yes, of course. :) Enjoy the sneak peek and slide show!

WONDERFUL pictures!!!!! Audrey is my niece (Donald is my brother) and I love her soooo much! I’ve always dreamed of having a professional take our family picture! (hint hint). Hehe
Melissa and John felt like old friends from the first time we met, which was reinforced at their engagement session and then again at their wedding. They’re good peeps, for sure: super laid-back, thoughtful and playful.
Both are finishing their PhDs at UCSD, Melissa in marine biology and John in chemistry (he just defended his dissertation! Go John!) so it was perfect that they get married at Scripps Seaside Forum, a part of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography on the UCSD campus. And their wedding was exactly that as they are as a couple: Melissa and John made it clear from the beginning that everyone at the wedding was extremely important to them and that they were there to celebrate their love and have a grand ol’ time with their friends and family….and they didn’t disappoint. The day was complete with home-brew made by John and his friends, a big dessert bar and tons of dancing and laughter. Oh! And how cool is this? The day before the wedding, they hosted a Couple’s Yoga session for all the out-of-town guests, which is featured at the beginning of the slide show. I must say, it was the loudest and most fun yoga session I’ve ever been to (and definitely the first I ever photographed!!).
Enjoy the sneak peek, Melissa and John! And congratulations!!

Hiya everyone! I’ve had some requests to post more preggo pictures and I’m happy to say that now I have gorgeous images to share, courtesy of Jamie Lawler Photography. Yippee!
Jamie did an awesome job dealing with my sudden onset of portrait anxiety during our maternity session: I can now safely say that I’m MUCH more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it, that’s for sure. In spite of my anxiety and the on-and-off rain that kept us mostly indoors, Jamie did a beautiful job. Michael and I are so thankful for her work and these beautiful memories…
Being the born and raised cheesehead (aka Wisconsinite) that I am, I don't charge for travel for weddings booked in southern Wisconsin. I may be a San Diegan now, but the midwest will always have a special place in my heart.
Jena, you look lovely! I miss seeing you at AjA class every week. Congratulations on your little one!
Thank you Emily!! Hopefully we can get together after the baby is born so you can meet him! :)
